Celebrating reaching 8,000 performance records on my database today 🎉 Since @pointslikeaman.bsky.social launched in 2023, it has grown exponentially, reaching 8,033 performances by 1,090 actresses at 133 theatres, representing 90 roles across 25 Shakespearean plays in cities throughout the world.

Those who know me know my favorite archival items in the world are prompt books. Never in my life did I think I would be able to own one. I am absolutely in awe to now own this prompt book of Macbeth from an 1878 production at the Paterson Opera House in New Jersey ✨

So I may have acquired an 1830’s scrapbook of theatrical clippings and it just arrived 🤗 Thirty-five pages front and back absolutely covered with notices of productions throughout America, Britain, and Canada. I’m in awe and simply can’t believe I found it!

Latest acquisition to my personal collection of actress ephemera has arrived! ✨ I’m so excited to have gotten this manuscript letter written by comic actress Frances Abington around 1800. My next bit of fun will be sleuthing around to figure out who the “Miss Smith” is to whom she wrote the letter!
