Have really enjoyed my short visit to (west) Michigan. Absolutely beautiful here (though it is also maybe the perfect time of year as well)

Camping with some of my fellow mountain rescuers and had to explain how I couriered a payphone across the Atlantic and then returned with this tent in its place. It's such a wonderfully weird tent.

US National Park #27 (of 62) today - Channel Islands. Had to start getting to the ones you can't just drive to at some point! (Also I love a good ferry ride, especially when it goes via a pod of hundreds of dolphins)

OK, there needs to be a future fancy chair sponsorship tier for PyBeach...

The PyBeach venue certainly has a Vibe (positive).

Also available in SF: the largest donut I've ever seen in my life.

Popped out of DjangoCon for a few hours to visit my 26th US National Park - Indiana Dunes. It's quite something to stand on what feels like a seashore and see the skyline of Chicago floating on the horizon.

Inherited an unfinished drone that was missing some of its motor mounts.

Redesigned them in Fusion, built a water bath, machined carbon fibre for the first time ever, all to discover... the polycarbonate 3D printed alternatives I designed are just as strong and within 1g of their weight.

A hotel nearby has had this on its sign for the last three years or more and... I don't know why. It puzzles me every time I drive past.

Lovely day to take a day off and go hiking today though. Weather is very pleasant, not a lot of people on the trails, and the chipmunks were very active!

Very much enjoying my 24th US National Park here in Yellowstone. Lovely weather for it, and just a really nice part of the world.

Still very impressed by this cheap delta printer (Flsun T1). One of these printed on the delta in 5 minutes, the other on a Bambu A1 in 25 minutes. I cannot see any real difference!

My new video on YouTube is getting the best kind of feedback!

(The death cable segment starts at around 27:00, but watch the whole thing if you also want vacuum chambers and giant parabolic solar mirrors)

I have been helping on the admin side for 3 years, but now, after four months of intensive lessons, field trainings, and a 24-hour long final field test, thrilled that my 14 classmates and I are the newest mountain rescuers in Colorado!

(and remember: in the USA, mountain rescue is always free!)

Delta 3D printers are my favourite kind because they look the most futuristic - but I just got a modern one in (Flsun T1) and wow, is this thing fast. Still need to dial in the print quality - it's no Bambu - but I'll take this intake muffler printing in 2h30m rather than 10h30m as a tradeoff.

I have done a lot of flying but that's the first time I've had the privilege of being on a captain's final flight. Enjoy your retirement, Captain Larry!

The view from Blackfriars station is particularly great today!

This is a really lovely picture of one of the local mountains overlooking Denver that highlights just why I love living around here.

Built a fun 3D-printed desk lamp over the weekend (coincidentally right before the Death Stranding 2 trailer released), and am very happy as my partner looked at it and thought I'd bought a commercially-produced one.

Did it look a lot smaller on the Internet? Yes it did. Are the workshop neighbours going to have Questions? I imagine they will.

Congrats to everyone at Boom for having the first civilian-designed aircraft to go supersonic in over two decades today. Really hope they can get this turned into a full passenger aircraft.

Finally got my entirely 3D printed hexacopter frame working yesterday, and it flies surprisingly well! Even in -15C/5F! Proper video coming soon, but here's a few clips of it flying.

Hey, some good news on the jury summons front at least. Now to revert that day to the PTO it originally was...

I have a strong memory of the South Kensington Museums tunnel being the longest tunnel on earth when I was little - now it's just a few minutes' walk, though I still enjoy it nonetheless.
