It's that time of year when the leaves are gone and the lichen and mosses growing on the tree branches take center stage

I guess it’s a good thing that here in Canada the protest in the news is the “Ostrich convoy” 🤪
A big rally is underway in the Washington DC today. Protesters are chanting “Impeach, Convict, Remove” on the Lincoln Memorial steps.

This baby Chinquapin oak sapling grew by our garden gate, likely from an acorn buried by a squirrel. Since an oak tree blocking a gate isn’t great we moved it 6 weeks ago. So far it’s done very well. We won’t live to see it get more than 10-15 feet tall but hope it survives 🤞

Today is Persons Day.
This day honours The Persons Case, which ended in a victory for The Famous Five on Oct. 18, 1929. The ruling declared women to be persons under the law and qualified to sit in the Senate.
This is the story of that case.
