First time I’ve been in the upper tier at Villa Park. Decent angle for any goalline decisions.

Not surprised with that back four given Saliba’s absence, wasn’t much else we could do. Nice that Salmon gets a call-up, worrying that we need to give him one.

Great to have Trossard back, but with his injury and Martinelli only recently back Eze makes sense.

Inevitable that Saka and Timber would need rests sooner or later, hope White and Madueke can step up to the task.

Great to have Ødegaard back starting, shame the strikers are presumably still not fit to do the same.

My second game here.

I was not expecting to be without Saliba, that sucks.

Other than that the team you’d expect, and obviously great to have Martinelli starting and Ødegaard, Madueke, Gyokeres, and Jesus on the bench, a lot stronger sub options than we had pre-break.

In a way it’s an odd one, because Hincapie has experience against clubs from Germany. But I guess we can’t suddenly throw him in for every game after very few minutes.

Not surprised at all about Lewis-Skelly over Calafiori, given his knocks. Ødegaard back is great.

Spurs fan expectations: Turning up and silencing us with chants about their second-tier trophy

Reality: 80 minutes of no noise, then off home
November 23, 2025 at 6:33 PM
Madueke and Martinelli back on the bench gives us a couple of strong and experienced attacking options to bring on, at last.

Obviously still missing big names, namely all 3 natural strikers and Ødegaard. But this team can get it done.
November 23, 2025 at 3:18 PM
Yeah, no surprises there. Can’t wait to get the ~5 attacking players we’re expecting back after the internationals, just need to get it done today.

In the meantime, great for Harriman-Annous that he continues to be involved.

Back five is obviously strong. Happy with that midfield in Zubimendi’s suspension absence. Merino up top.

So many current or ex-academy players on the bench. Especially if you cheekily include Eze.

Saliba back is great news, good to see Dowman on the bench too. No other surprises with the team really, shame Martinelli is still out but we knew that.

Under the lights, looking forward to it!

8 months later, it’s first-team debut time 🫡 great to see Dowman getting a start too.

Let’s go!
October 26, 2025 at 1:56 PM
The expected lineup, which is a big positive in this case given the doubts around Gabriel and Saka in the last couple of days.
October 26, 2025 at 12:52 PM
Probably smart to rest Calafiori, off the top of my head this feels like his longest run of fitness for us so let’s keep it that way.

Glad to see Martinelli in, Trossard obviously scored at the weekend but wasn’t at his best.

Gotta love these old grounds where home and away fans are mixing in the concourse and this isn’t considered a restricted view seat.
October 18, 2025 at 3:48 PM
Yep, works for me. Don’t think we needed many changes from the team we had out when Ødegaard went off vs West Ham, it was working.
October 18, 2025 at 3:18 PM
Ødegaard back starting is great, assume it’s Martinelli on the right to take some pressure off Saka recently back from injury.

Seems Dowman is in the squad too despite not being on this graphic. He was on the pre-match walk, so makes sense.

Boring game, comfortable win, I’m going home.
September 24, 2025 at 8:55 PM
The players are definitely approaching this shooting drill like Martinelli is LW and Merino is CF.
September 24, 2025 at 6:38 PM
Jack Porter with the squad tonight.
September 24, 2025 at 6:07 PM
Kepa debut, Norgaard first start, Martinelli at CF, White back, lots to keep an eye on there. Shame Dowman isn’t starting.
