What no one talks about with the hard scheduling is that it’s more or less an insurance policy.
You get the win and it basically guarantees admission if you are normal the rest of the way.

For sure, it’s just a point out that some coaches kind of end up in this somewhat nihilistic jockeying for their team at the end of the year when the reality is all this stuff still matters a lot to people regardless of what the coaches or networks try to spin.

At the end of it, all the jockeying from Saban to Kirby to Sark, Sankey and beyond is rooted in “none of this shit matters unless we benefit” and if that isn’t the biggest bunch of shit I’ve ever heard.
