Long ago, I did some research using photoacustics - basically the opposite. You use a laser to heat gas (intermittenly) so it emits sound. The sound gets louder the more gas you have, so you can use this to measure (with good accuracy and fast) the concentration of said gas in a mixture.

I got AI to write me a passage on stuff I’m an expert on, and even then. Dayum. It wrote so confidently and well and was so subtly off, that it took me a moment to suss out exactly what was wrong. Humans are wrong in different ways from AIs and often with context clues. It was unsettling.
