Getting too old to live fast and/or die young. TV junkie mostly.
The Jim Carrey comedies were rubbish like The Mask, Ace Ventura, Dumb & Dumber and Me, Myself & Irene. I definitely grew out of that era.

The Girlfriend - Rich overbearing possessive mum hates her son's gold-digging and somewhat worrying GF. Told from both perspectives separately and it's ridiculously unhinged. Robin Wright is still gorgeous & direction is strong.

Pretend it's a City - Scorsese sits down with Fran Lebowitz to discuss all things annoying - clearly so she can afford to pay her mortgage on her massive apartment. I wish I was this talented in expressing my contempt for my fellow man.

John Howard inserted the definition of marriage as "the union of a man and a woman" into the Marriage Act 1961. So over a decade of horrific & divisive debate over the rights of LGBTQIA+ people, a traumatic plebiscite and ongoing weaponisation of "Christian Values" is something.

Sing Sing was sweet and unexpected. Just like my opportune meeting with a man who had served similar hard time. Hollywood needs to find more stories like this.
