I haven't unlocked all the alts yet, but it seems like it's all there (like Beanstalk Park having its own theme and then the Beginner's Room remix for an alt).

They brought all nine GCN tracks back! They reused all the same models but the textures and lighting are updated.

They’re super-chaotic with the new speed / physics and the faster drafting actually makes Nebula Belt fun to play.

But my favorite thing is the sheer production value - with art direction that looks amazing in motion, absolutely brilliant menu and graphic design... But most importantly, that absolute precision and "minute detail" level balance that Mr. Sakurai and his team do SO well.

As someone who primarily played the Air Ride mode in the original and still do here, I still find City Trial somewhat lacking, mainly due to there only being one map versus the now 18 Air Ride courses. It's still a lot of fun in practice.

The gameplay loop is amazingly addicting, thanks in part to very quick turnarounds, and just showering the player with praise through the achievement checklist, machine customization, and the stupid pointless gummies.

My favorite thing is when it forces an update on you even when you don't want it, overnight. You wake up to your PC and everything you've been working on has magically disappeared.

I've started pausing updates (you can do so for up to 5 weeks at a time) in Settings.

It blows my mind that ties happen so frequently. I don’t think I’ve ever played a racing game where this has happened so much.

I finally picked up Vanillaware's recent games, 13 Sentinels and Unicorn Overlord.

Hold out for Raidou and it will get even less expensive. I'll bet it goes down to $15-20 USD in another year like Soul Hackers 2 has consistently been.

There are a lot of classics that just... can't be watched legally in certain markets even if you wanted to anymore.

Toradora is one of those in the US, and all the Blu-Rays are out of print. It's a huge bummer.

Wow! I can’t believe that I get to learn about the true essence of golf!
