Good morning!

I've been spending less time on social media lately. When I catch myself scrolling mindlessly, I just...stop. I read a book or watch a movie or do some cleaning. I don't know if that's good for my career as an artist who posts to social media, but it feels *great*.

Good morning!

On my comic book arc lately -- I've been a manga guy since middle school and only dabbled in a few Batman and Wolverine collected volumes and Watchmen in the past, but I'm enjoying trying more stuff out. Absolute Batman is very fun. Checking out the new TMNT next!

Good morning!

Saw a beautiful sunrise today while I was on my way back from my walk. Brewed a cup of extra nice Earl Grey with breakfast. Maybe I can't draw as much as I'd like to right now, but life is still really cool. Good luck today, y'all -- please make it a great one!

Good morning!

Couldn't sleep and woke up at 3am, but I made the best of it! Finished reading a novel, caught up on weekly manga, went for an extra-long walk, did some stretches, and cooked apple butter French toast for breakfast with a big cup of Barry's. Good luck today, y'all!

I bought the DVD of Hard Boiled back in high school and probably watched it half a dozen times (the first alcoholic drink I ever tried was tequila for a reason, lol) -- but somehow never got around to any of John Woo's other classic Hong Kong-era films. Glad I'm fixing that now!

Bronnya, (actual) bartender
- already has your usual drink on the counter when you walk in, refills your glass before you realize you want more
- clear voice, easy to hear even when it's noisy
- unshakably calm and cool (except with her sister)
- her eyeglasses are just for show

An illustration of Bronnya, my catgirl OC. She has dark purplish-grey hair neatly parted at the center with feathered bangs, skin of a slightly lighter and warmer purplish-grey, yellow eyes with two prominent eyelashes, a little triangular nose and a tiny lil mouth. She wears a black double-breasted tube dress with shorts, a leotard/bodysuit with a mint green to white gradient, and a cropped black blazer top. She also has little gold earrings in her cat ears, and big round green glasses. She's posing and holding a bottle of cream liqueur.

Chibi art of her is along the right side of the page -- yelling at her lazy coworker/sister, mixing martinis, and carrying trays loaded with bottles and glasses.

In the alternate versions, she takes off her cropped blazer to reveal large breasts within her gradient leotard, a version with water splashed on her chest so the fabric is transparent, and versions where her glasses are off.

- will forget your drink order
- slowly pushes bottles and glasses off the edge of the table to clear them
- doesn't talk much, always sounds like she just woke up (she might have)
- terrible at her job but it's always busy when she's working for some reason

Chow Yun Fat's acting is so electric and raw -- every time he's on screen, I'm buying whatever he's selling, dude. Ti Lung also kills it, and their best-friendship is just...it rocks. The soundtrack fucks. The vibes are immaculate. What a movie...

I think if not only drawing, but also gaming and reading and writing were all locked off from me...man. Life would go on, of course -- it's not like I'd just roll over and die. But I'm just thinking to myself, I guess, that I'm grateful for what still works and doesn't hurt. Life is awesome, y'all.

I'm thankful that, even though drawing or using a mouse with my right hand both hurt with my compressed nerve, holding a controller by setting it in my lap works fine. I can use a mouse with my left hand, or hold and read a book with my left hand as long as I keep it at eye level. And I can type!
