A Marty Supreme-style movie but it's about competitive Smash Bros.

So now that it's built, the questions to ask are:
- how do we rework the signals via TS/TSO input?
- how does the TTC get comfortable with the idea of removing slow zones?
Slow zones are TTC's fault, signals are Toronto Transportation Services' fault (confirmed by Metrolinx), and the design issues are Metrolinx's/ North American engineering profession's fault.

There has GOT to be a way to fix this -- is it Traffic Systems Operations or the TTC that is unable to respond? If we want to be a serious transit city the answer cannot be "nothing can be done."
Good news: Today is opening day for first new transit line to open in #Toronto in a decade. The Finch West LRT has 18 stops, runs 11 kms.

Bad: It was expensive, and it's actually slower than the buses that served the route before. That's not a great look for new rail transit projects in Canada.
Huzzah! The Finch LRT is finally opening! Now here’s the bad news
Years of waiting and billions spent. Shouldn't it be faster than the bus it replaces?

Paris does it! Helsinki does it! Florence does it! So many places figured out how to run fast and reliable light rail lines - Toronto can too by giving transit riders the green light.
Transit signal priority is such an obvious, cost-free way of increasing speed (hence capacity) of LRTs & streetcars. I took the circum-Peripherique LRT in Paris & never encountered a red light. Just took a Florence tram from centre to airport: only one red light, which immediately changed to green.
Toronto's will have a new transit line starting tomorrow! Exciting!

While this is a long-overdue & much needed replacement for the overcrowded 36 bus, this community deserves to see a Line 6 that is meaningfully faster & more frequent than the bus. We're calling for transit signal priority.

Definitely do not measure the distance between the Gladstone and Dufferin stops.
What are we doing here? 170m between streetcar stops. It makes the service borderline unusable.

Fortunately, it's easier to imagine the end of Netflix than the end of movie theatres.

We finally got him.
LeBron James put up eight points in the Lakers 123-120 win over the Raptors.

It's the first time since 2007 he hasn't reached 10 points in a regular season game.

Down one brother, Marty Supreme is still a "Safdie Brothers film" (complimentary). My review of a fun time at the movies: brieftake.com/marty-suprem...
Marty Supreme Review - Brief Take
With the same energy of director Josh Safdie's previous work, and a stellar performance from Timothée Chalamet, Marty Supreme reaches rarified air.

"The chair of this committee frequently says that in Ontario, we zone for buildings, not for people. But when we have a report that says adding new buildings will create complete communities and we couldn't possibly do that in Rosedale, I wonder if that's true."

Watching an episode of King of Kensington with Eugene Levy as an ex-con trying to get a halfway house built in the market. Air date: Nov. 13, 1975.

Exciting but also a confusing choice. The movie needs a young Hanna and McCauley, and Leo does not fit the bill. Is he going to play "present day" Shiherlis (younger Kilmer)? That seems like a stretch too.

It's kind of sad how totally shook Quentin Tarantino is. Seems more than likely he'll never make that "final" film.

Very sincere and non-rhetorical question: when the TTC sees numbers like these, showing new LRT service running slower than the existing buses, what do they think? stevemunro.ca/2025/11/28/6...
