Retired USAF officer and HS math teacher. Married grandpa. Democrat, Pro-Ukraine, Anti-Fascist. I believe the river of life flows from our ancestors through us to our descendants. Each of us is just a drop in that river. We're all in this together.
It IS happening here, in real time. History will repeat itself unless we stop it.

I was always pro-Israel in the past, but that's our US taxpayer money paying for those bombs and missiles hitting Gaza civilians.

Right on target!

Me too! "What a drag it is getting old." (quote from Rolling Stones song "Mother's Little Helper")

Yes I remember that incident. As bad as it was, it was not as bad as what Trump is doing now. At least there were real insurgents in the area, not drug runners. Iraq was like Vietnam in the sense that enemy combatants looked like civilians, so it was easy for Americans to get trigger happy.

I've noticed two changes from NFL football 30-40 years ago. The hitting has gotten more kinetic (excluding the quarterback, which is now more protected than before) and the passing game has gotten way better. These one-handed grabs we now see are incredible. Also longer field goals nowadays.

I don't recall that. Oliver North was tried for the Iran-Contra Affair which involved selling weapons to Iran despite an embargo, and using the funds to support the Contras, a guerilla group. Could you be thinking of the Me Lai massacre in Vietnam?

Actually, before Twitter there was NBC news online, back when you could post comments on news articles. (or was that ABC news, I forget which one it was)

Back in those days, we were yelling it on Twitter, before we got "X'ed" out.

Now we know how Hitler rose to power in 1930s Germany. They wanted to Make Germany Great Again.

Putin apparently DOES have something on Trump, some kompromat. We don't know if it's related to money or to Trump's sexual misdeeds. Or maybe both. But Trump's behavior is clearly that of somebody who is compromised by Putin.

I'm picturing Trump sky-writing "Surrender Ukraine" in his poop jet, like the wicked witch of the west.

Republicans are allergic to the truth.

You nailed it--Cotton has become increasingly absurd in his allegations that the two survivors were "still in the fight". They could not possibly flip their damaged boat over, it was already sinking. They had nothing to communicate with, and they were very clearly "out of the fight".

It's obvious to the entire rest of the world that Trump is a Putin asset. How can so many Americans blind themselves to this fact?
December 7, 2025 at 10:01 PM
No surprise there!

I said the same thing to my wife--it's hard to do a parody of something that's already absurd beyond belief.

Yes, restaurant-quality steak, not the cheap stuff.
