October is book month in this house. A lovely haul from this year's Seattle Antiquarian Book Fair. Some special ones this year, rare firsts, limited editions, president-signed, weird, fun, and unique.

The world may be going to hell, but there are still books.

Bring these back, cowards!

Look, I know I'm close-minded, but I know what I want, and I care more about where I live than what I do.

Nah, dude. The concept of a 'central business district' as distinct from simply an urban area or city is it's single use character of office buildings, separate from suburban housing. It didn't exist prior to the separation of uses driven by automotive transportation adoption and zoning.

My favorite bit of this map (that I've spent way too much time on over the years); just utterly silly and arbitrary.

And then these weird discrepancies get capitalized as chaotic market pricing.

Where is this for the modern age?

This and my What Would Jesus Bomb t-shirt are the defining symbols of my early-to-mid 2000's.

You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you?

I guess my situation really depends on who's doing kidnapping and who's doing the saving.

In case the QT gets cut, here's the idiocy in question:

If that's bike infrastructure, this is a road.

Dude really saw Frollo as a kid, and thought...damn, those hands are 🔥.

Two of my all-time faves. #booksky

Shelfie Sunday in PDX apparently.

1993 The Three Musketeers? I mean I'll take that thematically, but boy, that one faded into obscurity. An utterly mid adaptation.

This is what I want arterials in PDX to look like, right down to the rain.

I'm not extravagant by nature, but I do have one particular indulgence/weakness/passion: books. Which makes the Seattle Antiquarian Book Fair my personal holiday.

So, if you want to know about me, here's my annual Dionysian weekend (and personality) in a nutshell.
