25 yrs ago my parents split

Billy saved me that day

He picked me up

We sat on swings for hrs

The day was formative

Not bc of the divorce

But bc someone took the time to let me know that I mattered too

If you feel forgotten

I see you

I believe in my bones that you matter too

Speaking at a church s*x abuse survivor event last night

You want to see the best in people

But when someone shows you who they are

Believe them

You have the power to hold leaders - elected and unelected - accountable

You simply have to decide if you’re worthy of it
