Thanks! Since this post, we've had engineers to the house to determine the extent of the damage and the repairs. The initial court case was postponed literally because the driver was in school. The new date is this Tuesday. I'm going to be dealing with this for a while, but it's all good.

Today I went to my parents’ house for a BBQ. We brought the dogs—it had been a while since they’d gone on an adventure. We grilled, played cornhole, and broke out some board games. Then, at 7:30, my phone starts blowing up—people are ringing my doorbell at home.

Her mother was charged with letting an unlicensed person drive her vehicle. I got home last night to a subpoena from the Boro as a victim in the mother's court case. Which is taking place tomorrow on Zoom. Details to come! #wtf #freehold #freeholdboro #youhitmyhouse

I pull up the footage… and her story? A total lie. She wasn’t behind the wheel. She was giving a very young girl driving lessons in the courthouse lot. I’ve got video of her making multiple laps—with two other kids still in the backseat.

I ask, “It’s a holiday weekend—did you check her for alcohol?” He says he did, and she wasn’t drinking. The house is safe, so we head back upstairs. Then the officer looks at me and says, “I noticed you have security cameras... send me any footage you’ve got.”
