To be more clear if someone said a trans woman cannot be in a sport due to musculature and strength then it is the same thing as saying they aren’t a woman in that moment.

Both the current system and Vitale’s proposed system are stupid because the victim doesn’t have any rights. In both systems they have to go into hiding. We need a system where the victim does not have to hide.

This is, of course, why reactionary movements of all stripes seek so diligently to destroy social trust. An atmosphere of corrosive cynicism is conducive to authoritarianism. "I can't trust anyone, better just find protection from the biggest guy on the block."

It sounds sophisticated and worldly to the people who say it, but history has shown again and again, people who think like this are not more fortified against being deceived, but less. They are *more* likely to fall for demagoguery, not less.

I don’t understand this double standard where people think it’s OK to abandon Afghanistan, but we have to be there for Palestine? Especially when one is much larger than the other you would think the stakes would be even higher.

Isn’t giving Afghanistan over to the Taliban supporting authoritarianism? Restoring authoritarianism over millions of people in fact, way more people than live in Gaza?
