Working on putting the "Green" in Green Bay. Middle-aged family man. Film photography, bicycles (mostly old ones), and woodworking. (Skeets are my views alone).
Thanks for getting this fascinating story out. I've always enjoyed your writing.

I live in a small, purple city in the US. I wish you could come here and see the kindness of my community, which includes significant populations of Hmong, Laotian, Somali, and Latino people—mostly from Central Mexico. I know what you see on tv and her on bluesky, etc. But it's not the whole story.

Honestly, I think I'm over my Nikon SLRs. If I'm honest with myself, I don't need them and pretty much choose rangefinders for 35mm every time. The things they do better, I tend to do with a digital camera. I've been thinking about selling them (and the lenses) to fund the purchase of a Leica M2.

Yes. I called them up and asked. I’m getting close to the end of my 400’ roll.

This is wild! I left NY while Giuliani was still mayor, I could never have imagined this! It was just after 9/11 and I was volunteering for Mark Green's mayoral campaign. I thought that would have been amazing. But this! I did not have New York governed by a socialist on my bingo card.

I didn't mind Frank Lloyd Wright's solution to this: Usonian. I like the way it sounds.

Are you sure you're not from Wisconsin?

Sure, but I suspect everyone already has a heap. At least I do. The best merch are consumables. Things like notebooks or pencils.
