I’m not a Luddite but I’m just old enough to remember cars that used to exist without so much extra crap. And don’t even get me started on rental cars. They are ABSOLUTELY tracking every driver.

Pardon my Gen X crankiness. Trump and all he has wrought has made my negativity and anger so much worse.

I basically want a new version of a Chevy Chevette but with airbags and designed crumple/impact zones. I want my car free from as much electronics as possible.

It can be ugly. Slow. Without “features”.

All I want is for it to be super-reliable and easy to fix without electronic BS.

I don’t want ANY “technology” in a car. Not even stereo-smartphone pairing. I only want airbags. And also NOT airbags that call anyone when they deploy.

I don’t want internet in my car. I don’t want big data, black boxes or any tracking. I don’t want my vehicle weapon used against me.

I'd like the second this. Rockwell was not a revolutionary. The vast majority of his career was depicting the glory of the status quo. Practically every piece he did was white people experiencing first world problems (with very few famous exceptions)
