I remember Joe Jackson lifting the lid on the charade, asking the audience to indulge him for a bit because he’s going to play some of the new album first but promising he’ll then do the old stuff.

You’ll need a truck if it’s a Kraftwerk tickets worth of Aldi. After this it’s back to basement micro-gigs for a tenner at the door for me.

That’s the bit I don’t get and haven’t found an answer/fix for - why isn’t it entirely accounts I don’t already follow? Shouldn’t that be the point?

Feeling smug because I’ve nabbed tix for both.

I’d just be happy if my Discover tab wasn’t full of accounts I already follow. Which for the record aren’t erotic anime cats. 😉

I’m not a gamer, because stripping down and rebuilding a PlayStation is where the real action is. 😉

I’ve been playing the long game. Record to tape. Wait 40+ years. Then sample it.

I thought I’d lost this, then remembered there’s a copy tucked away on Vimeo. A live Dust set from 2013, back when the whole thing was driven from AudioMulch. I dearly wish that a revamped AudioMulch would appear, but it’s been pretty much abandonware for a decade or so.

A rare live appearance by yours truly, performing a live mix of original Alphabet Dust tracks. Yes, as stage presence goes it's a bloke sitting behind a laptop,…

When I started going to gigs in the late 70s a lot of tours were effectively loss leaders for record sales, hence the relatively inexpensive tickets. That financial balancing act has been flipped on its head by streaming.

You’re off the hook, I didn’t catch measles.

I know they’ve been a Cubase semi-remix session for years now, but it’s the whole audio-visual package folk go to see.

I saw them in 1990 and 2004, but I’d like to see the show one more time with my (now adult) kids who grew up listening to "The Mix" in the car. Missed out the last time round.

Just had the utterly pointless experience of trying to get presale Kraftwerk tickets. Chased them round the hall while each block turned unavailable every ten seconds or so. Three minutes after they went live, all gone. Bots funneling tickets to resale websites as per usual. What a scam.

I like their first album.

True story, I’ve only ever owned one set of trading cards. Must be worth thousands now but I’m playing the long game.
A set of Milk and Cheese trading cards.

I’m just here for the reference to Cardassian jurisprudence.

Ditto Breaking Bad. Also The West Wing, The Sopranos, the list goes on. I have an odd response to being told repeatedly how great a show is: It makes me less inclined to catch up. And even if I am occasionally tempted, I see there’s a billion episodes to watch and my interest fades again.

My next door neighbour plays clarinet. "Pearly Jazz Pets" is an anagram of "Peter Plays Jazz" because it’s an ambient reworking of Peter playing Jazz. Because that’s the kind of thing that happens round our way.
Pearly Jazz Pets
Audio from a video clip of Peter Russell accompanying a jazz track, repurposed, recycled and rearranged.

Thanks are due, I wasn’t aware of the ESU thing until you posted about. I just tweaked my Dad’s laptop to get another year out of Win 10 support. At 87 he says that might do him! 😆

There was a drone boom? Why wasn’t I informed? 😉

Back in my shop floor days I once picked up a length of 1” screwed rod that that just been welded. The burnt indentation of threads across my palm meant if I curved my thumb and fingers together I could almost run a bolt down my hand. 😉

Vague recollection that’s a Spike Milligan poem? 🤔
