I'm not so sure that nuclear weapons will deter conventional attacks from ruSSia. After all the escalation management, ruSSians must feel pretty emboldened.

Europe will probably need conventional deterrence as well, because right now, IMHO, it's in no position of winning a war against ruSSia.

I think everybody understands that Europe and the US are no longer allies. NATO right now is nothing but a bluff to try to keep the ruSSians in doubt, but I don't think they are falling for it. They will start a war with Europe, it's a matter of time.
