Congress needs to do it's job. They are supposed to decide when we go to war.

MGT is a populist. Left wing populists & right wing populists have more in common than you may think. This is why many MAGAs like Bernie Sanders & John Fetterman.

The appropriate response is, "I'm not insubordinate to you. I do not work for you. In fact, Mr. President, you work for me (and also 300 million+ other Americans).

I work for a non profit that helps people receiving public benefits. This is causing a lot of pain for these families

I think it depends on what you mean by moving to the center. I used to be considered a centrist. These days, I appear to be quite closely aligned with the left. I don't think I've changed much. I would say that I'm a Scandinavian-style social democrat.

So we should all expect a big drop in grocery prices for foods containing soy, right? I'll eat edamame, tofu, etc... I can even tolerate soy milk in coffee if I mix it with oat milk.

Individual small and medium-sized farms have contracts with the big faceless agro companies and plant crops for them. It's a mess. These conglomerates are threatening our food security.

If you are lucky enough to be able to live below your means, do that. This is not always possible for people who have medical issues or whose loved ones do. Your economic status does have a random component to it.

Perhaps "Defund the Police" was a bad slogan. Perhaps "Fund social and human services" "Fund all forms of public safety"

They sometimes have newer stuff, but it's the same mellow shopping music. People whose offices are closer to the back of the store get more classic rock.
