The really obvious Greater Spotted Tree Dragon. I had a picture of the much smaller Lesser Spotted Tree Dragon here somewhere but I can't find it...

Alley, ink and collage, 62 x 97cm. A two-layer drawing, assembled in its frame without glass, for the moment. I'm thinking of adding some more leaves in the foreground, directly onto the mount board.

This probably *isn't* the start of a monthly series, but I do quite like the idea. I'm just not sure that I can come up with a suitably iconic picture for every month. In or out of the woods.

I called this drawing January because it seems to encapsulate the joy of a cold, bright winter's afternoon. And it was made this month - from the walk and the photograph to the completion of the drawing.
Drawing of trees on a slope, exposed roots, curved trunks. There's a light dusting of snow on the ground and on the trees. It's late afternoon and the sun is low. Drawing is mainly black ink with yellow and blue ink at key points.
