Alley, ink and collage, 62 x 97cm. A two-layer drawing, assembled in its frame without glass, for the moment. I'm thinking of adding some more leaves in the foreground, directly onto the mount board.
A commission, handed over today, in its frame. Ink on kaolin-coated board, 12x16"panel in black tray frame. Based on Tilt (see comments) and an extra visit to the Wonky Hornbeams.
This probably *isn't* the start of a monthly series, but I do quite like the idea. I'm just not sure that I can come up with a suitably iconic picture for every month. In or out of the woods.
I called this drawing January because it seems to encapsulate the joy of a cold, bright winter's afternoon. And it was made this month - from the walk and the photograph to the completion of the drawing.
Today I visited Kings Theatre, Southsea, with the Portsmouth Urban Sketching group. Some of them appear in my sketch from the dress circle. Sailor fude fountain pen in A4 sketchbook.
