I assumed you and many others do care because you are drawing attention to it (and I am grateful for it). Just saying that many we depended on before to care & lead the way for accountability don’t & many who see this kind of thing do not because they aren’t the one being hog tied.

And that should be adhered to, and there should be regular and rigorous consequences and accountability for lack of adhering to the standards. I do care because I worked in the justice field for so long, & was trained to not harm juveniles when necessary to restrain them.

Clarity was needed, for sure. “Who cares about that?” Was directed at the fact that there are so many people who do not. This is not even a thought for them. There are too many people who don’t care about the fact that there are training standards & ways to safely restrain someone w/o harming them.

Most of the tactics I have seen folks using in video and photos are big no-nos. And are not how folks with good standardized training are trained to do. But who cares about that?
