I got home from learning that my cat is dying. There's not really any correlation to the comic, but with the world devolving into chaos, I was moved by Peter's advocacy for the ideals of "American justice" in the face of his cynical teammates, as they fight a border-enforcing imperialistic force.

I just put this down, so this might be recency bias, but today’s AMAZING SPIDER-MAN by @thatjoekelly.bsky.social and @pepelarraz.bsky.social made my heart swell, especially for its moral clarity in dark times, and is my favorite issue of the comic since, perhaps, issue #800. Thank you for an uplift!

I've been skeptical of this book from the start, but I hoped it would eventually answer the ???s that kept me from embracing it. Mainly, what did Peter feel was missing in his life that drove him to *choose* to become Spider-Man and put his family in harm's way? 20 issues later, I still don't know.
