Consumers will go to the theater less and less. Big tvs are super cheap now. We only go to the theater once every 5 years or so. Cost and convenience.

According to reports, ED took the lump sum instead of keeping the monthly pension. Unfortunately, it was used for his wife's healthcare medical bills. Had he continued monthly, they would not have been affected by medical bills.

Only Delphi, a subsidiary of GM, salaried workers were affected. And some executives. Hourly were unaffected. Salaried either got a lump sum or annuity transfer. In almost all cases, pensions are insured. PBGC took over the Delphi pension plan and had significant reductions.

I wonder if he's well off and doesn't think so. I've known some old people who said they struggled on two pensions and each with Social Security and a nice home. They talked about how expensive things were and they got free rides to the doctor and shopping.

Depends on the book. Sometimes, non-fiction can be 2x or higher, depending on the narrator. Almost never 1x. 1.3-1.5, typically. Start at 1.5 and go from there.
