2344b H5N1 and H5N8 compared to 2.2.1.2 H5N1 in Egypt: all had 100% mortality in chickens, H5N8 had higher viral shedding, with variable contact transmission (50% for 2344b). In mice 2344b had lower mortality rates, and less severe lesions.
