Here is our latest paper, co-authored by Efpraxia Zamani +myself (pub in Humanities and Social Sciences Communications). We use Critical Discourse Analysis+Marxist theorists (e.g. Gramsci) to explore the 2022 UK Digital Strategy+its role in perpetuating digital+material inequalities.

Just received my co-produced and translated research materials (participant information sheet and consent form) in Urdu and Arabic! 😃 We’ll also have interpretation during interviews as we try to make the study more inclusive.

If you are DMing me here,I am (unfortunately) not receiving your messages due to not having access to my DMs. I refuse to verify my age, as I have been writing and conducting research on techno-politics for awhile, I know where this is going and I dont like it. Feel free to email me instead:)

When I went to OpenAI’s press briefing a couple weeks ago, the moment that made me the most nauseous is when their “VP of Global Impact” said they were testing AI models like this across Kenya and other parts of Africa

“The AI in the study probably prompted doctors to become over-reliant on its recommendations, ‘leading to clinicians becoming less motivated, less focused, and less responsible when making cognitive decisions without AI assistance,’ the scientists said in the paper.”
AI Eroded Doctors’ Ability to Spot Cancer Within Months in Study
Artificial intelligence, touted for its potential to transform medicine, led to some doctors losing skills after just a few months in a new study.

It’s always Southern Europe paying the price for the Global North’s/Northern Europe’s, pollution, imperialism, and austerity

Southern Europe is sweltering under life-threatening heat that could last through Monday, fueling wildfires that have left at least two people dead. In Spain, soldiers have been deployed to battle the fires and hundreds of people have evacuated. nyti.ms/46STog7

I've never done NHS ethics before so that was a very cool process to go through and made my research skills stronger 💪🏻
anastasiarousaki.bsky.social
Not to flex, but I designed an entire study (co produced with PPIE panels and individuals from diverse backgrounds) navigated both the famously challenging NHS and university ethics processes (half the time I had no idea what I was doing)+today I got provisional acceptance🥳

The @qmip.bsky.social conference was a lovely experience!

Now, I’m also super excited about the next EQuiP conference, which will be held in Lyon (one thing about me: I absolutely LOVE France). As committee members, we’re already preparing behind the scenes- and we can’t wait to welcome you there

I’ll be presenting two studies at the @qmip.bsky.social Conference 2025, both examining how digitalisation policies advance neoliberal agendas and deepen structural inequalities—one via Critical Discourse Analysis, the other via constructionist Thematic Analysis.

New work out at BJPsych Open in which we examined the stressors faced by healthcare workers in the UK during the pandemic. In parallel we further developed our understanding of the nature and psychosocial impacts of secondary stressors and provide recommendations for policymakers. Link in comments.

We need to allow adolescents to imagine subjectivities that don’t merely react to dominant norms, but actively reconfigure gender in their own terms
