This is so brazenly another attempt to force women out of the workforce.

CJ Abrams is six gallons of talent in a five-pound bag. There's still offense to unlock there, in a guy who's only 25 and has three years of team control left. If (as is the rumor) he's available, #Cubs should be lighting up #Nationals' phone lines. northsidebaseball.com/news-rumors/...
Why Chicago Cubs Should Trade for Nationals Infielder CJ Abrams
The dam hasn't broken yet, but the rumors have picked up noticeably as teams convene for this year's MLB Winter Meetings. One possible move has lit up the Monday rumor mill, and Cubs fans should take ...

Story on Harry Ford, in line to be the Nats new franchise catcher and warming to the idea of playing in DC after developing in the Mariners system:

The Nats’ new catcher was ‘pretty sad’ to get traded. But opportunity awaits.

It's pretty galling that the NWSL will *always* tout any example of unprecedented growth, no matter how insignificant or narrowly defined, and then say the revenue growth expectations needed here have no precedent.

Harry Ford spoke on a Zoom earlier this morning. Said the trade “hit him pretty hard,” but added he’s looking forward to building with the young Nats roster.

“I’m excited to be around some grinders and some dudes who are ready to get after it.”

The better question:

Are there things the Nats did that made him worse than his stats appear to be and can other teams correct those to maximize the elite underlying talent?
Here's a question I'm not certain I know the answer to:

Is MacKenzie Gore good?

Harry Ford just met with reporters over Zoom. Was legitimately stunned by trade, loved Mariners org, but is looking forward to opportunity with similarly young Nats. He's currently in Oxford, England (where his father lives), says he plays to again play for Great Britain in WBC.

Harry Ford, who enters the system as the No. 2 prospect per @mlbpipeline.com, says on a Zoom call he already knows a handful of current Nats players: James Wood, Brady House, Dylan Crews and Daylen Lile.

Also, he joined the call from Oxford, England, where he's visiting family.

Excellent, excellent thread.
My parents were free-wheeling Boomers convinced things were only ever going to get better, financially. They had good reason, then. They could afford a house, car, and weekly nights out on two full time assistant manager jobs at a fast food chain. But they also got caught up in emulating wealth trap
