Person who actually deserves a trophy is the artist who made the FIFA peace prize trophy look like everyone in the entire world holding their head in their hands out of secondhand embarrassment

What an obsequious, toadying, servile, brown-nosing, corrupt little cunt Gianni Infantino is.

The FIFA 'peace prize' is the most cringe-worthy, pathetic thing I've ever seen in my life.

Football deserves better than this travesty of a ceremony and ruling body.

This is my big soap box. We gave the presidency too much power with the PATRIOT Act, extrajudicial drone strikes, indefinite detention and the creation of the Department of Homeland Security. Trump is just using executive authority Congress gave to the presidency after 9/11 to maximum effect.
Congress, in my opinion has ceded too much of its authority to the Executive Branch in the last nearly quarter of a century. What the administration has been doing is simply part the Post 9/11 legacy. It’s got to stop. I say this as a GWOT era veteran.
Credit to Rand Paul. He hated extrajudicial drone strike killings under Obama and he HATES them under Trump where Congress has given no authorization.

JFC Americans are drowning in choice. These people think turning back the clock isn't just for daylight savings time.
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

There's a reason DC, with all its Roman architecture and nomenclature, doesn't have a triumphal arch. They are imperial. The practice is older, but they're primarily associated with the later surviving ones, exclusively reserved for emperors. Thus why the one in Paris is a Napoleonic monument.

Heartbreaking story.
Wong’s plight — arms raised in anguish and weeping as he stands against the backdrop of what became Hong Kong’s deadliest fire since 1948 — was captured in a Reuters photograph that went viral, becoming the emblematic frame of the disaster reut.rs/4rzTZek
The photo that became a symbol for Hong Kong's deadly fire
Hong Kong’s worst fire in decades shattered Wong’s life: a walk to school became a desperate search as his wife vanished in the deadly blaze.

What is Jared Kushner's job in the administration?
I’d rather question why is Kushner there and why is he laying out a vision? We did not vote him into any gov position nor the senate we voted for has approved his candidacy.

This isn’t a grey zone anymore, it’s 50 shades of grey.

Trump is invading American cities to nominally address crime, and I think the scale of his pardon-sprees should be given more political salience
When this criminal was jailed, the judge told David Gentile and America: ‘This is a warning to would-be fraudsters that seeking to get rich by taking advantage of investors gets you only a one-way ticket to jail.’ I guess not

As a small business owner in the alcohol sector (in a ruby red state), the amount of taxation, redundancy and time-wasting bureaucracy is punishing to say the very least. And that's before insurance. Politicians love praising small businesses, but measures like this would actually deliver to them.
Soon small businesses won’t have to wait for Small Business Saturday to get attention from their Mayor.

Some changes that they can look forward to:

The reality, of course, is that Miller and a significant portion of Trump’s base are the ones who failed to assimilate to America’s post-WWII culture of multi-racial democracy & religious pluralism…and they are now using their power to destroy that once dominant (and still popular) American culture.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization
