I'd happily talk to anyone who can help us build a modern, open, data infrastructure for volunteering.

I'm the treasurer of a large Scout Group in Sheffield. In my volunteer role I see the power of volunteering every day. Volunteering makes people happier and strengthens communities. Investing in data infrastructure to help more people give their time is a no-brainer.

Finally I emphasised the need to work openly & collaboratively to standardise & join up physical activity data integrating it with NHS data & smart data from wearables. I talked about the need for organisations to invest in trustworthy data practices, including capabilities, that enable data sharing

I discussed the need to break down data silos in physical activity data, build trust in data practices, and accelerate data sharing initiatives.

I flagged that there needs to be a more strategic approach to data about physical activity.

Land use modelling no longer needs to be a decadal pursuit, modals can be developed and constantly refined and improved.

Properly stewarding the data and model to open standards, perhaps in a National Data Library, would support this.

The opportunities to make use of the extensive catalogues of geographic and remote sensed data that are now freely and openly available are massive, particularly when combined with responsibly designed AI and ML software.

Meanwhile in Sheffield I have had 4 conversations with my practice this week 1 with a GP, 1 with a pharmacist and 2 with admins. All I am trying to do is reset my repeat prescriptions!

Fundamentally how does turning online booking reduce workload and enable teams to catch-up? I think the research shows it takes more resource to answer phone calls! If the issue is prioritising appointment issuing could this be done with a digital triage?
