Had an amazing weekend at Columbus Book Festival!! It was so well-organized, with 40K+ people wandering in and around the library. The bookstore sold out of THE GODS BELOW and THE BONE SHARD DAUGHTER on day 1. I got to meet so many incredible authors in person, and to hang out with old friends ❤️

Made a sheet pan dinner so clean up was minimal and had a hot second to work on this scene from The Gods Beow. Hakara and Thassir, in the orchard, when he endangers the whole mission by rescuing a cat. Maybe I’ll finish painting it by the time the third book comes out 🫠

To understand how athletic and smart and also stupid Savannah cats are first know that mine waits for me to bend over to use me as a leaping off point to get to the top shelf of the closet. If I don’t bend, he will jump from the floor to MY SHOULDER to get there.
