Imagine how much smarter the average smart person would seem if you gave them a billion dollars to play with. Intelligence is not the same as means. There are brilliant people out there living at or below the poverty line.

Just In: ICE has deployed a unit consisting of specialists equipped with tools to capture all illegal spectral entities who are allegedly plotting to attack the President with ideas of peace, love, and kindness. "This WOKE mob of ecto-terror will be detained and deported back to Hell," says the DoHS

Do you know what goes into eight revisions of a 135,000-word work of fiction?

About 1,350,000 words.

I admit that I didn't think about "the band" in most acts until John Belushi made a point of introducing them on the Blues Brothers' albums and when they showed up in the movies. I learned how important the geniuses behind the talent were to making that kind of magic. Steve Cropper. Thanks.

Part audio drama. Part novel. All done.

I keep saying Trump is the useful idiot. He is protected by real power. If you think this is over when he's gone, you haven't been paying attention. This is a demonstration of power unprecedented in the modern world. It is the test for the next level of populist figurehead owned by the oligarchs.

Social media has been around long enough now that I've watched my high school alumni group move from reporting weddings and career accomplishments to legacy student graduations and obituaries. It is a fascinating phenomenon.

Share Wars. More money. More assets. More IPs. More control over the industry. More creative control. This isn't new. Look at the anatomy of Disney and every company it owns or controls.
Netflix has made the highest bid to buy Warner Bros so far.

Hi, America. Not for nothin' but the Cold War is over. We don't need to project psychotic levels of patriotism. The world will respect us when it sees us taking out our own trash and caring for those in need. Til then, we're just Bushwood Country Club without the wackiness and jokes.

Hm. The Sacred Algorithm wants to decorate my news feed with unconventionally attractive women in shiny black breeches. I guess that's the curse of being a writer and a far more appealing environment to scroll through than when I was researching serial killers and pig farms for a different book.

So weird. I just started watching the last Mission: Impossible movie, and the hook makes me think this is what a Neil Breen movie would be like with a $400 million budget. The socio-political set dressing is just bonkers.

If Biden closed his eyes for more than a few seconds at one meeting, it would fill the conservative news cycle for days. Trump naps through several, and suddenly it's prayer, meditation, focus on active listening, or some other bullshit lie to defend their deteriorating oligarch.

Food Hack: I have found that the most accurate and prompt delivery drivers are found near airports. If you pick a good restaurant near the airport, you'll find a lot of drivers pulling taxi and delivery duty. They are always in a hurry to get back to the arrivals circle, so they are quick.

"Create your next blockbuster script with just one click."
(Not a scene from a 1980s movie about a dystopian future. This is the dystopian future Gen-X warned about.)

#80sKIDS - Do you remember school assemblies where some company brought in big multimedia presentations with loud rock music? They would project a bunch of band names on the screen, and we'd scream when we saw our favorite. G&R. U2. Duran2. It would lead to a subject like citizenship or patriotism.

My generation is the last to enjoy the dignity of screwing up without the potential of doing it in front of a global audience. Police body cams and court videos have monetized a modern TMZ covering ordinary people on their absolute worst days, defining their entire lives for posterity and profit.

24 yrs ago, the largest military disaster in American history began. Those officials who lied and manufactured evidence to justify a 20-year war in the Middle East walk free. They retired with honor or died without consequence. Think this round will end any differently?

Poltical history, nationality, orientation, and identity are not the same as motive. If so, every murderer with a cross necklace or tattoo would define a typical Christian. It isn't WHO the criminal is but WHAT they did and WHY. Simple journalism. Simple truth.

On vacation this week. Enjoying films like Sisu and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare to get me in the holiday spirit. I will have Captain von Trapp tearing up a Nazi flag looping on my digital picture frame until New Year's Day.

It's not Christmas until someone whines about Mariah Carey or Wham! online like they are the first to make a joke about it.
I guess it was Christmas a month ago.

Because we are conditioned to consume and spend over the next few days, may I suggest that, instead of feeding the Walmart or Amazon beasts, you buy local from your friendly merchants? Buy books from local authors at local bookstores. Buy original art from galleries in your town.
