Actually, if you're talking about the 500, that ironically came in the twilight of his career. I have no doubt that he was on a resurgence in 2000, but he was one tough customer in that Wrangler car.
That era of him is by far my favorite.

For sure. I was an Earnhardt (Sr) fan and watched him unrestricted, and he was good then as well.
People loved the black car and remember it fondly, but his name and reputation was made in the Wrangler car.
He was an animal in the Wrangler!
Back then he was "One tough customer," or "lead foot."

No, I'm not saying anything against the 99 season, I just always found it ironic that he was one of the best plate racers ever, and yet he complained the most about them. LOL!😂😂

Me too!! Been a fan since the 70's and this is the best competition that Nascar has ever produced!
