Husband and dad first and foremost. Also Deputy Editor of Modern Railways, sub-editor of Hornby Magazine, general railway hack, author and director of Tavistock Okehampton Reopening Scheme. All views my own, natch. Cornwall, UK
Experience with #SaveOurSleeper 20 years ago proves our voices really CAN make a difference and if we speak with one strong voice, we can get these vital works for the South West completed and ensure Plymouth, Torbay, South Devon and Cornwall remain connected to the network. Thanks so much!

If any of my lovely friends can offer any sort of assistance, please let me know. If we speak with one strong voice we can give the government the ammunition it needs to put the vital cliff works back on the agenda.

It ain’t. As long as there are people with the passion and deep enough pockets to support it, steam will survive.

Refurb from giffgaff - and it’s absolutely fine. Why pay for a new phone if you don’t have to?

Good stuff - hope you enjoy!

…there’s a case. But on a railway with an already insanely complex fares system, is adding more complexity good? And how does that all tie in with the need to run a boringly reliable railway first and foremost? I’m not sure it does.

Audi and SUV drivers getting impatient when following me and flashing headlights and beeping horns can do one. Frankly, Devon and Cornwall Police should do incognito speed checks: they’d catch dozens of idiots who can’t read signs or understand speed limits.

Should be 20 all the way through Hayle. Very weird that it isn’t. Adds very little to journey times and it will save lives, I’m sure. The amount of tourists who just step out into the main road through town in the summer whether anything is approaching or not is unreal.

Very odd here. From west to east. 30 for a bit, 20, 30, back to 20, then 30 right past the rec. why not 20 all the way through? In summer that speed is aspirational anyway. Makes you wonder, doesn’t it?
