I live in the shadow of Mt. St. Helens where I write about cameras and other tech, create YouTube videos, and spend a lot of time out in nature photographing wildlife and the places they live.
Streamers of fog like an ethereal jellyfish, reaching down from the clouds to trail across the treetops on of an island, perfectly reflected in the calm water of a lake. #wawx #landscapephotography

The sun tried to poke through at dawn, but since then it's been formless slate-grey all day. #wawx

Damp doesn't even begin to describe the conditions today in SW Washington! #wawx

There are about a dozen waterfalls near me that are either inaccessible or where the reliability of continued access is precarious.

Many of these are as spectacular as those which are found in our National Parks, yet are only depicted now by old black and white photos or as mere dots on the map.

This Parson Spider makes his rounds like clockwork every evening; patrolling the walls in search of a hearty meal.

Keeping a spider indoors is much the same philosophy as a farmer keeping a cat in the barn, and like a cat, spiders can be good company.

There's no easy way to get at the markings to rub them off because this guy decided to draw them on the underside of the glass, so would need to disassemble the camera to work on that surface.

The other Kowa Six came with an identical lens in much better condition and in perfect working order.

However, the mad man who previously owned it decided to mark grid lines onto the ground glass of the camera!!!! Argh!

This sort of issue is so common in these lenses that the previous owner has sheared off the VXM switch, and has possibly attempted to even glue the switch in place, as the V and M settings can cause many issues and are basically useless. It's a common modification.

These old Kowa Six Leaf-shutter lenses sure are finicky things!

This one is functional, but there's something wrong with it so that you have to cock the shutter to remove the lens, then to attach it you need to manually move the pins in the lens and trigger the shutter in the camera.

One of today's projects - I got this new dry stone planter filled with dirt, daffodil bulbs, some flowering vines, and a shrub.

Some truly awesome finds garage-saling today!

Yep, and this is one of the worst I've seen due to its location. It's right next door to some of the most spectacular natural wonders in Washington, and is one of the few undeveloped spaces not yet ploughed up for farm fields.
