Hi Everyone,
This thread is specifically for Americans, though I request anyone who sees it repost so it can gain traction.

Since President Trump has decided to sign so many executive orders, I have created a petition. I want to request he make the KKK a terrorist organization. Read below for more

nothing but facts my friend

exactly! and people not allowing their minds to be opened and enlightened by knowledge they did not previously have or the opinions of others. if only everyone knew how nice it is to hear out all sides of a conversation before becoming so defensive
angewice.bsky.social
that would be cool! hey thanks for keeping this discussion civil and productive. that's hard to do on social media and in such contentious times. i appreciated your genuine responses and perspective

that's a good point! i think in my personal experience and point of view the definition of politics focuses more on the debate aspect, and a debate for equality rather than power. i don't quite think identity is the right word for it but under that definition i don't think politics is either

the audience's interpretation of that message
angewice.bsky.social
and further still if the artist's message makes it to the audience.

in summary, the act of creating art is political. the art doesn't have to contain a political message to be political due to that fact. and further, political art is political if that is the artists intention, regardless

modern politics have made it so that the act of expressing yourself is political. therefore the art doesn't have to have a "political" message to be political.

this being said, there's a further level of art being political if the artist intends to send a political message.

let's go on a deeper level to my opinions about the link of politics and art so that i can clarify why both statements are true.

creating art is a political act. artists create art to send a message, whether the message is received by the audience or not.
angewice.bsky.social
no. a piece of art that has been given political purpose by the artist is political. it is not the observer that injects meaning to the art, it is the artist.
angewice.bsky.social
if the artist chooses
angewice.bsky.social
allow me to clarify what i meant. all art CAN be political. all art CAN send a political message

this kind of spending stopped before Trump was even elected the first time and it says it right there in your post?? so who stopped it? not him

I can tell you right now that even Republican voters did not want a majority of what the current administration is doing. Donald Trump and his administration have already seen a significant drop in Republican voter support and a spike in Republican voter criticism.

the government has positioned themselves for a war against its own people which is to poise themselves for a collapse. it's not collapsing yet, but it will if this continues
