Lover and disseminator of political (and other) snark, "Love Me, I'm a Liberal"
What's exceptionally cool is that one of the world-record-breaking bagpipe crowd in Melbourne was a guy who had played bagpipes on the original AC/DC cut

Being solely concerned about the Democrats taking advantage politically of the Epstein revelations is not the only appalling take that Megyn Kelly has had recently on the subject

Still more proof that Trump's announced policies are often spur-of-the-moment enthusiasms based on whatever the last person who sounded qualified told him or the latest thing he saw on Fox News.

My post wasn't to defend the Dems, just to point out that I don't think Schumer and Jeffries deserve equal condemnation in this particular case.

I've been frustrated that Schumer and Jeffries have not been doing a lot more and been a lot more vocal about the current dangerous authoritarian administration and all of its undemocratic and unconstitutional actions but in this case I don't think they're both the same.

Republicans thought they had a permanent hold over young men. They didn't.

Spanberger wins men 18-29 by 14%, Sherrill by 10%, and Mamdani by a stunning 40%.

It is a big-money race already but not on party grounds. The issue is more local: whether to allow casinos and gambling.

Not sure an upset is what is indicated here: seems more likely having two Republicans on the ballot split the Republican vote, which combined is more than the Democrat got. The runoff will provide a clearer picture.

Because in Australia you don't have to vote at only one specified location, people can shop around for the place with the best fundraising food through a volunteer online tracker: democracysausage.org!
Democracy Sausage
A real-time crowd-sourced map of sausage and cake availability at Australian elections. It's practically part of the Australian Constitution. Or something. #demsausage
