I am the Liberal Member of Parliament (MP) for Ottawa West-Nepean (Canada). This is a personal account.
I spoke in the House of Commons about a new 54-unit supportive housing construction soon to open in Ottawa West-Nepean. This project by Ottawa Salus will house older adults with a lifetime of addictions and mental health challenges, allowing them to age in place in dignity and safety.

Every Remembrance Day Ottawa Fire Services hosts a breakfast for local elected officials. It’s special to see firefighters, some of whom are also veterans, pay tribute to those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. I also thanked these First Responders for keeping our community safe every day.

One of the most touching things that the Legion does is being Remembrance Day to local nursing homes where veterans and residents would otherwise not be able to attend at the local cenotaph. Today I was honoured to lay the wreath for Canada at Embassy West and at New Orchard Lodge. #lestweforget

30 years ago I joined 100,000 Canadians who travelled to Montreal for a massive Unity Rally, encouraging Quebecers to vote “no” in the independence referendum. It was exhilarating as a student in Canadian history to feel like I was contributing to that history. I will never stop fighting for Canada.
