Can anybody hear No.10? We checked. Most big government announcements are forgotten in a day.

The only exception to this rule is Digital ID - which peaked 50 times higher than most other announcements and is still sustaining interest 3 weeks on.

Britain’s recovery can’t just be economic. It must restore pride, purpose and opportunity - in every school + every community.

Not just repair the damage, but build something stronger and fairer.

The public see cadets as a boost to both wellbeing and a sense of national duty in our young people
May 9, 2025 at 11:36 AM
But just 1 in 13 state secondaries currently runs a unit.

That’s why we’re calling for cadets in 500 state schools by 2029 - and a long-term plan to make the programme mainstream.
May 9, 2025 at 11:36 AM
Our polling with @moreincommonuk.bsky.social showed that the public agree.

Cadets give young people purpose, confidence and a sense of duty - but most state schools still don’t have one.

Coverage on pg3 of today's @thetimes of our call at The New Britain Project to double CCF units in state schools by the end of this parliament 👇

‘Your call is important to us…’ but voters are losing patience.

@greenmirandahere.bsky.social nails the issues in our latest
New Britain Project report in today's FT Weekend.

'A call that ministers might want to answer before these voters hang up on the whole system.’

@alisonjourno.bsky.social and @nickferrarilbc.bsky.social
discussed our report Computer says no on
@thismorningitv.bsky.social

Especially good to hear highlighted our finding that it's women who report higher levels of frustration & time wasted - esp with booking GP appointments - I wonder why.
April 1, 2025 at 1:38 PM
78% of people report regular frustration when trying to access basic services.

The worst offenders?
1️⃣ GP appointments
2️⃣ Council services
3️⃣ Energy suppliers
April 1, 2025 at 9:01 AM
Our new report Computer Says No shows how broken systems - from GP bookings to council websites - is quietly fuelling frustration and reshaping politics.

Most people get that the govt got a duff hand with cost of living and Trump.

But this - gov can and should fix.

Great to speak with @shelaghfogarty.bsky.social about our research with the @neunion.bsky.social and
@moreincommonuk.bsky.social

Social media is a collective action problem - parents can’t enforce the rules alone - Gen Z know self-control isn’t enough - the public want govt to step up.
March 10, 2025 at 4:06 PM
Parents want schools to take a stand on smartphones - because the ones with stricter rules see the benefits. Over half of parents want tighter restrictions, and those in schools with phone bans say the policies work. But right now, it’s a postcode lottery. @neunion.bsky.social @luketryl.bsky.social
March 3, 2025 at 9:03 AM
The data is clear: parents say social media is the biggest threat to their children's mental health.

Making sense of Labour's to do list

The Children's Wellbeing and School Bill passed last night, but as @stephenkb.bsky.social notes in his @financialtimes.com imes.com Inside Politics newsletter, it fails to tackle schools' major issue: poor recruitment and retention. In fact, reducing academy freedoms could worsen it.

Quite. 😂

Our latest The New Britain Project report in a series examining the practical implications of Labour's pledges makes the page 2 lead in The Times this morning.

That same intensity that marked Labour's path to power now needs to find its equal in how they approach the actual business of government.
