Components have arrived for the snack kits! A few notes on assembly.

They come together pretty easily but if you have manual dexterity challenges (as I do), you might need help.

I've had surgery on my left thumb & I cut my left hand last week.

Decadent bread pudding. I'm eating it topped with a little coconut ice cream. It's sooo good. Rich, just sweet enough, nutty, cinnamon-y, and spiced with cranberry goodness. 10/10, perfect autumn treat

Anyway, spite roses aside, we did some gardening today and it looks great.
Reddish orange flowers (they look kinda like daises, don't remember if they are) planted far left, marigolds down front in a row orange-yellow-orange, asters in a yellow pot in the back, two pots of pink flowers in the back. One is citronella and I forget what the other one was. Finally, far right there's a massive bloom of yellow chrysanthemums.

I remember being lectured by an old lady at church one time about how difficult it is to grow roses.

In my experience, it's difficult to kill the bastards.

When we moved in here, we tried to dig up one bush, though we succeeded. We cut the other two down to nubbins.

And...

SPITE ROSES LIVE.
These are spite roses. I tell them daily that I loathe them, that they're thorny bastards who don't belong in my garden. (We didn't plant them and they were SO mangy and neglected and covered in weird parasites) These two bushes are the ones we cut down to nubbins. Oh, visually, they're coral roses lushly wildly riotously in boom and pink roses, a little more spare blooming but much better than they were. this is the rose bush that we tried to dig out, we yanked SO many roots and nodes and bulbs or whatever but I guess we missed something because this bastard grew back stronger than ever, minus the weird parasites. It's thriving and green but hasn't bloomed this year. I wonder what color these spite roses are? Anyway, there are other plants in the picture. Two different kinds of pink flowers growing wildly and a white pot with some purple plants in it. Also some purple flowers in front. I'm good at growing plants, who knew?
