My mother has a lengthy track record of inviting random people to our family Thanksgiving gatherings, and this was not the only incident that has given me and/or other guests pause.

My mom invited a random acquaintance of hers to Thanksgiving one year, intending to match her mom (my grandma) up with this dude or something.

Random dude proceeded to monopolize dinner conversation with “9/11 was an inside job” & related crap.

Of course, my grandma was not a fan of this guy.

tbf white feminism is 100% compatible with these women. They would not pay attention to intersectionality if they tripped over it. But now they care about how THEY are receiving misogynistic treatment from conservative men.

Just to be clear, I don’t think feminism and right-wing women are compatible. Remember Phyllis Schafly. These women are ableist, racist, homophobic, anti-Semitic, and transphobic to the core; that is a huge part of why some of them are “defecting” a little—bc the sexism is affecting THEM now.

Feminism is BY NECESSITY a movement to free people of all genders (including NB and trans folks, whom MGT, Mace etc DO NOT LIKE). Right-wing women are gonna be opportunistic. If the sexual predators on their end of the spectrum did some weepy apologetics, they would 100% fall for it.
