Yes cholesterol rises in association with menopause in women. Mostly LDL though and not total cholesterol. Keep in mind that cholesterol for steroid synthesis is very different from the lipoproteins we measure as “cholesterol” in the lab. Lipoproteins have triglycerides, proteins and cholesterol
