Last night, Illinois’ legislature passed a law, SB2111, which will fund a major expansion of service for the Chicago region’s transit systems, thanks to new revenue sources.

The law also takes a major step forward in coordination between agencies.

On the sales tax piece: I don't love the sales tax. It's regressive. But for context, if a person spends $1000 per month on non-grocery consumer purchases — which is a lot! — this new tax would cost them $2.50/mo. And the value of better transit to lower-income folks is substantial.

Wrote earlier today about how badly Dave Roberts’ infatuation with Blake Treinen hurt the Dodgers this season. On top of blowing so many games trying to “get Treinen right,” it took valuable reps away from young relievers with little experience who they now need:
