Latest read. Peter Schlemihl trades his shadow for a bottomless gold purse. This deal with the devil turns out quite cursed - w/o his shadow, society rejects and ostracizes him. After a series of adventures, he ends up isolated, but resists the devil’s temptation to sell his soul, and ends up… (1/3)

Just read this. Absolutely outstanding story and art.

And this new, cheaper line (“Premier Collection”) actually has decent quality and a surprising amount of extras (like interviews, alternate covers etc.). Hope they do much more of those.

Had never heard of that website, googling a bit and it’s already blocked here. Good job, regulation, we don’t need those sites that harm authors.

Latest read. Dr. Jekyll And Mr Hyde is a fantastic story of duality in man, and the aspects of our self we repress either for our own sake or by societal pressures. How much can we shape our own nature, or is our nature completetly shaping us? Beautiful prose by RLS, and a short read. #BookSky

I have the complete Shakespeare in pocket book format, very portable and I really like to read plays on trains or when visiting relatives. Probably also lovely as audio play (but I don’t really do audio plays, maybe I should start with that sometime 🙂).

My thirty-six most-rated books (via goodreads). Seeing these made me realize I only love about half of these 🙂.

Do you have this white kind, that pretty much always goes with (baked) fish?

It works slightly different in English, but when I learned maths at a German uni I was amused of the definition of ‘gender’.

Because gender is the number of holes 🙃. Very straightforward.

Yes, and when it gets too ubiquitous, gears everywhere...

I like when it looks like someone started by studying something like an astrolabe, or a clock etc.

Latest read (New Testament to be specific). I like the four gospels a lot (best: John, worst: Luke, too crypytic). Good characters, story and a lot of great morals often conveyed through figurative language, rhetorical question, simile etc.

Huh, for supper I like Reibekuchen (potato pancakes - not sure if that is a thing in the US)

Enjoy your culinary unrestrictedness 🙂

Let’s add a John Howe artwork for completeness. He set the look of LotR for me.

I love 80s and 90s fantasy art…Larry Elmore, Boris Vallejo, John Howe (and many others) defined how fantasy looks to me. Hate it when people complain about ‘old-fashioned’ or ‘dated’ fantasy art.

We have ‘public bookshelves’ here, though some are VERY exposed to the elements.

My only (&minor) complaint, I wish we could get more Sha-Kabet. Fantastic character.

Latest read. A globetrotting adventure tale of a Robert E Howard character that I hadn’t seen much before. Absolutely gorgeous artwork, intricate story & characters, I loved it. Rich in history & designs.

Huh, what’s his deal, I wonder. I never even heard the term ‘ragman’, except on a Magic card.
