does the US have the thing we have in France that's not quite a patent but almost a patent where you put your idea in a sealed letter and give it to some institution and then if someone thinks about it you can unseal it and go "you activated my trap card i thought about it first!"?

the person making the choice is the one choosing to trust @robeto1829 who puts 28 caveats in his tweets and says he is only thinking aloud, instead of engaging their own critical thinking and looking what other people think, presumably because someone told them they shouldn't be forming opinions

that's a dangerous way to go, it's possible to form opinions based on your intuition and general knowledge, i think realizing they're wrong is a big part of learning, you can do it with humility and without being stupid

I'd say there are use cases for it, from the tons of discussion about it I got on in twitter, a lot of people are very attached to the likes tab, it's half effective vibe check half unhealthy stalking

oof yeah i can imagine that, i'm only juggling between a bleeding edge app router app and a prehistoric pages router.. app and haven't had too many problems with I'm not surprised

there really was a time where the whole social graph just lifted here at once, almost everyone posted here but also almost everyone kept a foot on both side, and slowly it eroded back to the way it came. i thought i was an interesting dynamic how different people dealt w/ it.
