A great recording of the concerto. Two of the other works on the album, Arutiunian's Theme & Variations and Weinberg's Trumpet Concerto, were both written for Dokschitzer.

It's disappointing how expensive the new Dohnányi box is. Both Presto and Europadisc are selling it at £175, which is nearly £5.50 per CD. Meanwhile, Amazon has priced it at £213 and rarewaves wants £257! @loveinner.bsky.social

It was. He was a great admirer of Barbirolli, although mentions in the interview that Karajan is his favourite conductor.
