She focused on a mantra, thinking “light” when she inhaled, “root” when she exhaled. It felt so good, diving into deep meditation, grounding her energy. Deep breaths in her Niwa body, safe in a cave in what had once been Tennessee.
Suddenly, a rumbling brought her back to present awareness. A motor, quickly growing louder.
She cursed out of her meditative daze, regretting their choice to camp so close to the road-path.
Already tuned in, she opened to her guidance. “Stay where you are," the command rang in her head. "There is nothing to do but hide."
Her pack was right outside the cave wall. She sprinted out, grabbed it, and saw campfire smoke wisping out of the trees from their camp.
She was too far to help. She ran deep into the cave, now breathing to calm the panic rising inside of her.
"I am not afraid of death, I am safe where I am… I am not afraid of death, I am safe where I am..."

It was a beautiful day to cruise around and explore some 19th century tombstones... Those Stumptown folks sure did like their log themes!
