I am horrified by the images of a mosque in Peacehaven burning after a suspected arson attack.

Everyone should be able to worship free from fear and terror.

Islamophobia is totally unacceptable. Those who spread hatred and incite violence against Muslim communities must stop.

Yeah my wife really had a lot to discuss about it. Enjoyed the concept and novel approach and thoughts actress did a stellar job of holding attention throughout

Train conductor just announced no working toilets on train. Said he'd registered it before train left but noone replied "it is what it is"

Interesting concept but very heavy handed. Thought they did some really neat lighting also and talented cast

Blustery day, isn't it? Here's the National Grid: Live generation data. Wind and solar are generating 74.2% of our electricity. Gas is generating 13.1%. And yet our household electricity prices are pegged to... the volatile price of gas. Which is the basis on which the right attacks... renewables.

Pip desc made me very uncomfortable, specifically nose, gelt, sticky fingers and 10% cut. Interested in Nova Centurian, but I can still not like that phrasing. My serious ish comment for the month

Off to Dracula today, one of few trips during busy work month. Had such a dramatic week, looking forward to getting out.

Probably just have to find ones that work for you, after all song lyrics are kinda poems. But I did find them the hardest to get into

RIP Brian Patten. He wrote one of my fave poems.
A Blade of Grass

You ask for a poem.
I offer you a blade of grass.
You say it is not good enough.
You ask for a poem.

I say this blade of grass will do.
It has dressed itself in frost,
It is more immediate
Than any image of my making.

You say it is not a poem,
It is a blade of grass and grass
Is not quite good enough.
I offer you a blade of grass.

You are indignant.
You say it is too easy to offer grass.
It is absurd.
Anyone can offer a blade of grass.

You ask for a poem.
And so I write you a tragedy about
How a blade of grass
Becomes more and more difficult to offer,

And about how as you grow older
A blade of grass
Becomes more difficult to accept.

Wider than non-immigrants? Why?
ilcontealmaviva.bsky.social
At the same time the Home Secretary says immigrants should have to provide "wider contributions" to society apart from working, paying taxes (and paying expensive visa fees and IHS, one might add) and following the law to get ILR, so I am not really convinced it's a big change in direction.

Clearly wasn’t paying attention in Alien: Earth, because it took me way too long to notice Ade Edmondson

Only by us becoming the populist right can the populist right be defeated.

Or something.

Keir Starmer has lost me today.
66 The Left ignored immigration fears for too long. It's time to give communities back control
Only a plan for patriotic national renewal led by Labour will counter the rise of the populist Right

Once fell asleep at a work presentation about ID cards and what they might help (and what other country's did). Absolutely got called out by my boss. I have no idea why that's on my mind.

Reform UK has announced that it would scrap indefinite leave to remain within 100 days of government — but what impact will this have? And is Nigel Farage trying to force the hand of other parties on immigration policy?

Reform’s new position on indefinite leave to remain is even more extremist than Donald Trump’s crackdown on US immigration.

If any of Reform’s political opponents fancied saying they publicly, that might be nice. Handily, it’s even true.

I twanged my back and somehow hurt my Achilles heel. Still made potato buns, helped fix the oven and played some Diablo (got my HC char to end of campaign). Doped up on painkillers now

It's a very interesting more modern take. I've been listening to Podyssey and so much I didn't know about origins of some myths
