Occasionally ponders - "Yes, but *where* did the dust for the accretion disk come from???"

2012 shot of half of Babbage's brain, Science Museum, London. On a subsequent visit circa 2023, it appears as though the museum had 'lost track' of the item. Conversely, there is no apparent brain in the feckless youth seen on the left, who is purportedly doing something 'with AI' these days.

Ridiculous Instructions #47

This monster covers the installation of a PIR sensor in 13 languages and measures 842x650mm (33x25peppercorns in old money)

Of course, to improve readability, they thoughtfully printed it in grey ink.

And no, there is no online version.

Here's the same shot, on Venus.

We can highly recommend this, especially since the lighting can be completely different at those times. Here's my shot from 2008.

With hosepipe bans in place across most of the south of England, the local cricket pitch has taken a novel approach to irrigation

@dsfpspacefl1ght.bsky.social @gertjanbartelds.nl 75% through our 2-week tour of Iceland and we check into our hotel for the night in the northern town of Husavik. Directly across the road from our room is a commemorative display. Caron swears that she hadn't known about it beforehand!

How's your week been? Mine's been pretty good.

@dsfpspacefl1ght.bsky.social @gertjanbartelds.nl One of the nice things about the BBC is that tickets for program recordings are free. Tonight, we were at Infinite Monkey Cage, sitting under the Museum of the Moon exhibit at the Harwell Campus. Radio is much easier to watch by the light of the Moon!

In that gravity? Isn't it just a rocky plain?

No scruffy beard. No suspenders. But the smug expression is highly irritating!

@dsfpspacefl1ght.bsky.social Oh course, the Holmes family does astronomical events differently to everyone else!
