These three books are top notch! I love Nayeli’s writing. And Kyle LUKOFF books are always a welcome
Treat. That is why this year selection is stellar. This will be the only year I won’t be mad because any of these books will be a superb choice!

What a stellar selection! I have read three of the five and each of them tugged at my heart. Love, love, love those books. Hannah, Ibi, & Amber are changing the game and forcing us to have convo about what is considered “good” literature. I’m here for this year’s #NationalBookAwards finalists

Let’s give Dr. Kirkland’s dad some credit for finally manning up and putting his foot down. I also thought that was smart for him to have that convo with his wife in front of his son. Men teach their boys how to be men. That was a highlight for me. I loved that scene.
