Ideally this should be a continuum: start fast and easy and slowly enable more robust capabilities. Forcing me to select when I barely know the capabilities of each feels like a bad idea.

Here is an example - You can integrate Gemini two ways: the "fast-and-easy" way or the "slow-and-extendible" way. You literally have to choose from two different SDKs.

The book came out mid last year and, given the pace of this space, feels a little outdated, but a good read anyway.

The book covers some interesting periods in this history of both companies with OpenAI’s pivot from an altruistic organization to a traditional startup, and DeepMind’s transition from an academic research oriented org to a Google business unit.
